Since 2016, Glen has developed and executed an investment process that leverages institutional grade “quantamental” portfolio management techniques to construct multi-asset portfolios aimed at private clients, incorporating direct listed securities. The success of Glen’s approach has been demonstrated by strong performance vs peer multi-asset products across each risk profile.
Glen has held roles spanning investment research and sales trading and has extensive experience advising fund managers on securities analysis, market strategy and stock specific trade views. In 2011 Glen was awarded top performer in Citi’s Alpha Generator, which provides actionable trade ideas to institutional clients, achieving a long-short equity portfolio return of +31.5% and a sharpe ratio >2.5.
Glen has a Masters in Applied Finance from the University of Melbourne and is a qualified member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and New Zealand. He has an undergraduate degree in Accounting and Business Law and Diploma in Financial Planning.
Nick’s particular expertise is quantitative finance, where he is an expert in conceiving, implementing and trading equities and multi-asset models that incorporate the latest techniques including macro-economic, company level and sentiment driven metrics to deliver positive portfolio return outcomes for clients.
Between April 2016-April 2018, Nick was responsible for the overhaul of the CFSGAM Core Australian Equities portfolio, introducing quantitative rigour and process, driving up return outcomes including 2.2% outperformance of the index in the 12m running into February 2018, on the $5Bn active Australian Equities portfolio.
Nick has a Masters of Aeronautical Engineering degree from Imperial College, University of London, and a Masters of International Business and Finance from the University of Sydney, and is a fluent French speaker.
Jason has worked closely with investors, advisors, and investment committees to design and implement strategies for Private Wealth Groups, Family Offices, Financial Advisory Firms and Superannuation Funds. He managed $900 million in assets for BT Investment Management (now Pendal) in Australian Equities and Derivatives, Global Macro strategies, and built hedging overlays for Industry Super Funds. In Asia, Jason worked at multibillion-dollar Hedge Funds managing long short equity portfolios and hedging solutions. Prior to this he worked at Barclays Capital and Merrill Lynch in London.
Jason holds a Masters in Quantitative Finance from Bond University and a Bachelor in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Flinders University.
Michael’s expertise covers both qualitative and quantitative finance, with a particular focus on fundamental company analysis. From 2013 to 2022, Michael held the position of Senior Executive at First Sentier Investors (previously Colonial First State Global Asset Management) in the unlisted infrastructure team, where he specialised in asset management and transaction execution for the global USD4.3 billion fund.
Michael has a Bachelor of Commerce and Laws from the University of Sydney and a Master of Quantitative Finance from the University of Technology, Sydney.
In addition, Sam was responsible for the management and implementation of Smartshares currency hedging strategies, and was the portfolio manager responsible for $1bn in index tracking international equity portfolios employing both full replication and factor optimisation portfolio construction methods.
Sam holds a Bachelor of Science majoring in Computer Science from the University of Auckland and is a CFA charterholder.
From 1988-2018, David held institutional funds management roles within Westpac Investment Management, State Street Global Advisors, Insurance Australia Group (IAG), Mercers and Colonial First State Global Asset Management.
David is a member of the CFA Institute, and the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He also has a Masters in Finance and Economics and an undergraduate degree in Engineering.
Matt’s expertise covers both qualitative and quantitative finance with particular emphasis on fund manager analysis. He has extensive experience both as an asset consultant advising institutional investors on asset allocation, fund manager selection, and portfolio construction, and directly managing multimanager portfolios, where he has demonstrated a consistent track record of outperformance. Matt developed, and led, the capital markets research programs both within the Implemented Equities division of QIC and at Ibbotson Associates.
Matt has a PhD in Philosophy from Macquarie University, a Master of Research, and a Master of Applied Finance and Investment, as well as undergraduate degrees in Economics (Econometrics) and Philosophy. He is currently completing a Bachelor of Science (Chemistry/Biochemistry).
